Hi -
I have a concrete patio in my backyard that sits essentially 6-7 inches "below grade" of the rest of the yard. I would like to "grade-up" this section of the yard by adding soil to the concreted area. Rather than remove all of the concrete (4 inches unreinforced - but with no easy access to the front of the house) I was thinking that I could break it up with a sledge to allow for water drainage and then fill over top of it. I am going to add grass and some small plants in the area along with a brick path over one section. Will this work or is it necessary to remove the concrete?

Thanks

Matt

Hi,

Well, the first thing we need to know is from the gardening people about soil, grass, drainage, etc.

I am moving this question to their forum
