What is the proceedure for refinishing furniture with a fruitwood
finish when the piece has more than one kind of wood (ie: white
oak legs and mahagony inserts in the top and sides) ?

If you intend to strip it, then apply the stripper and remove the finish and any stain. Clean the stripper according the manufacturer's instructions. Apply new stain, if desired, and finish.
