Suddenly, none of the igniters of the four burners of my elderly Chambers cook top
are operating. No telltale "clicks" on any of them. Do I just assume the spark module has died and replace it, or can you suggest a diagnostic step I should take first? Thanks.

Hello Joe Viola and Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic.

If none of the sparkers are functioning and there is for sure electrical current to the appliance, it's possible there is a fuse located within the wiring system.

The fuse is usually located under the cover where the spark module is located. Should be right next to the module. Once located test the fuse for continuity. May look fine but not be.

Also continutiy test the contacts of the fuse holder and through the wiring. Also the switches on the top burner gas valves. Do all this prior to assuming the module is defective.

Caution Note:
Be absolutely possitive the electric current to the stove is turned off or the appliance is unpluged from the wall socket before attempting to locate any part, testing, removing or replacing any electrical part.

Reading the existing questions within this forum pertaining to stoves, ranges, spark ignition systems that do not work, etc will also provide you with additional information.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the possible problem may be also. They will need the make, model and serial numbers.

Appliance parts dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts. Dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.
