Looking to buy either replacement or new construction thermopane double hung windows with old style (heavy) wood grids both inside and exterior (similar to old single pane windows) . Please suggest manufacturers.

If you look long and hard enough, you MAY find them. Certainly not a style of window that is going to be in high demand though. Many of the problems that the old wood single and double hungs had were related to wood rot, and not too many people want to have to deal with that issue -- hence aluminum, vinyl and clad now have the largest market share.
