I have an old artesian softner. The salt got really low and after we completely filled it, manually regen., it keeps running water. Thr brine tube tank looks empty and the timer doesnt move past the time it was when we filled it. I reset the actual time and it still stays. It regen.s at 2 am...normally. I "clicked" the manual button until the water quit running. The knob moves on the regen. but not the timer. help!

Make sure you have power. It sounds like the timer (clock) motor is not running. If it won't keep time, it can't run the softener through the cycle either. It could be jammed too but make sure you have power to the motor first.
