Hi,

Used Citristrip to strip my dark paneling, which I think is birch veneer. Only sanding seems to get out the last remnants of the brown stain, so the appearance is kind of blotchy unless I sand and sand and sand! as I have a lot of paneling to do what would be the easiest way to make the wood a uniform color? should I use a different stripper? should I bleach it? try lacquer thinner? I was hoping to just put a clear satin wipe on poly over it with out stain. Or should I stain it, or would this not work as maybe the blotchy parts will not accept the stain? Thanks in advance for your advice

You might try some methylene chloride stripper such as Klean Kut to get the rest of the stain. Bleaching won't remove the stain.

Hope this helps.
