Hello I'm painting some window frames, what's the best way to do this without getting any on the glass?

I also have some words that are painted on the wall under the windows, how would I paint the wall without going over the text, and then re-coat the text without scruffing it up?

Thanks

To paint the windows - use a high quality 2 or 2-1/2 sash brush. Dip only about 1/4 inch into the paint and tap the sides of the pail to knock off the excess paint. Start your stroke away from the glass to further remove excess paint. Now paint the edge. Always use the tip of the brush. Too many h/o end up painting with the sides of the brush. If you get any paint on the glass, just wipe it off right away. With a little practice, you'll be fine.

Oh - and pour the paint into a pail. Don't even think of dipping the brush into the paint can. That causes stary bristles.

sometimes making sure paint goes onto the glass and then removing it with a blade scraper makes a better job. Me I dont mind getting paint on the glass, gets done quicker, window frames are a pain and the sooner they are finished the better.
You might try painting the words with alkyd paint and applying'liquid mask' overtop which can be removed after painting over walls re-exposing the lettering.

I agree with mudder,. .Liquid mask works good. or even without scrape it off after it dries. Try leaving about a 1/8 inch rim on the glass for a little weather seal/
