I recently volunteered to paint a mural at my parish's grade school. Of course, I have no experience (would I have volunteered if I did?). I was wondering if anyone has any tips, books, websites, etc. to recommend to make this a manageable project. Thanks in advance.

Hi, and welcome to the DIY Forums
The best DIY murals for children I saw were elaborated with the children's help.
- Choose a subject and ask each child to make a picture. Then glue the pictures in the wall and apply a transparent coating
- Get a big canvas, (an old bed linen is OK) join the children and a lot of paint, choose a subject and ask the children for help. The results are amazing. Glue the canvas in the wall and apply a transparent coating.
