I had new vinyl windows installed yesterday however the installer is unable to come today and install the flashing/capping to the outside. He is coming back in a few days however they are calling for rain and I am concerned that the exposed wood framing on the outside of my house will get wet and then when he caps it, will rot from the inside..
He has sealed the inside using caulk and the outside holes with expanding foam...
Should I be concerned or is this wood treated to withstand the moisture?? They house is 40 years old and some of the framing looks somewhat rotted already..
Thanks,
MG

This same wood has been exposed to the elements for 40 years, a few more days won't hurt. The capping also isn't so air tight that any moisture on the wood when it's done won't dry out later.
I'd be more worried about getting the guy back IF you've already paid for the work :)
