I have some old copper pipes, shut off valves I like to replace as well as making crafts with copper piping. I want to buy a torch to do mostly soldering. I have the bernzomatic propane torch. I looking for something with a bigger tank or maybe uses acetelyne or mapp gas. Does anyone have any recommedations as far as make\model and where to buy?

I have used the “Little Torch” that Smith Equipment makes. It would make more than adequate heat for what you need it for. It's also small so it can get in to tight places. You can get regulators to fit quite a few bottle sizes. You could get it at any store that has Smith Equipment
