I have recently painted my bathroom and the shade is just a little too bright. It is very close but needs to be muted a little. Is there a technique (that does not involve re-painting all over again another color) that might give me a muted version of the color I have. I do not mind having to re-do each wall since most of it is trim work and a very smalll bathroom but would rather not have to buy all new paint and consider my work so far a loss.

The final results of a color can be off, just a tad sometimes. That is why I don't choose colors.

Over the years, there have been several times that the customer decided that the color was off. All of this is in the eye of the beholder. Even here at my house, I have repainted because my wife decided that her original choice did not quite suit. Some of these times, even I could not tell the difference. I have repainted rooms, trim, furniture, even entire houses to change to the perfect shade.

Short of some decorative techniques which are beyond my appreciation, I suspect that the only way to wind up with the right color will be to repaint the wall.

Hope this helps.
