Could someone please help me decide which windows would be best for the Memphis, TN area for new construction.

Ask yourself how much time you WILL devote to maintenance of the windows. Answer honestly.
Wood windows are going to require painting every few years to maintain them. If you do it religiously, they will last a long time. As soon as you stop doing it, they will rot. When they rot, you will replace them.
Vinyls are installed and pretty much forgotten, other than you might have to replace a roller or a lock now and then. (You'll have that with wood windows also).
Once you have made that decision, you are ready to start shopping for windows.
