I am building a bathroom in basement. The bathroom is relatively small, 2/3 of the bathroom ceiling is 7' and 1/3 is a little bit more then 6' due to A/C duct. I want to install a toilet, a lavatory and a shower. I am searching for a design that would fit my conditions but haven't found anything suitable so far. does anyone know good sources (web links or magazines) where I can check for small bathroom design?

Here's an illustrated article on installing a half-bath from Reader's Digest "The Family Handyman" magazine that will help you get started:

Check with your Building Inspection Department for local codes, permit and inspection info before you begin.
Good Luck!

This article shows how to plumb a bathroom. I am looking for the design that would describe finish bathroom: types and models of fixtures, tile, ceiling, lights, etc.

Not really sure what your question is asking.

Are you trying to get the shower, toilet and sink into a small foot print, and have a question about layout?

Can you be more specific what what kind of info you are seeking?

I am looking for overall design that would include fixtures layout, fisxtures model and type, floor, walls and celing finish (type and color of tile, paint, etc.), lighting, fan and other bathroom attribute. I already have some idea how to plumb and wire a bathroom but I have not found yet small bathroom design that I would like.

Ok, as far as layout is concerned, something you should consider is making a mock-up of your bath by marking out the locations of the walls , closet, door, etc., and cutting out plywood or cardboard to represent your fixtures. Shift them around on the floor within your walls, and walk around your space to get a feel for how it is laid out to see if it "works" for you.

I just put in a small basement bath, and looked for layout info. I didn't really find anything that fitted my needs, so I just did the mock-up thingy.

One thing I learned was that by putting in a corner shower stall, it made fitting the toilet and sink into the space much easier, and made for a more efficient use of the space. The other thing I learned is that there are not a lot of options with pre-fab corner shower stall bases as compared to square or rectangular bases (the corner stall door opening also cuts into the usable space inside the shower). One method around this limitation is to use a custom tiled shower pan (as opposed to a pre-fab unit), which can be constructed to any dimension you want (limited only by the size of your space).

There are acceptable minimum distance requirements for fixtures, i.e., you need 15 inches from the center of a toilet to the wall on either side, but 30 inches is just too narrow to feel comfortable. A shower stall minimum is 32 inches square, and 12 inches on either side of the centerline of a sink is required. But these are all far too small IMO, and the utility of these small spaces is questionable.

As far as different styles, designs and availability of fixtures is concerned, take a trip down to the local home center. These places have tons of stuff and you can get some great ideas just by browsing.

Hope this helps, post again if you want to see some pictures of my project to get some ideas, or if you need more clarification. Good luck !!

Thank you for you response. I am jut planning a basement bathroom and don't have any wall yet. The only wall I am restricted to is the one that has main sewage entrance. Other three walls I can move closer or farer making the bathroom bigger or smaller depending on design. I am also flexible about positioning fixtures as I will be breaking basement concrete floor and installing a ejector sewage pump. But I really need a design with pictures that I could imagine a whole bathroom at final finished stage. I can then modify base design to accommodate to my needs but I need good starting points. I am personally very bad to create bathroom design myself.

For design ideas, I personally pick up magazines to look through on my lunch break. Better Homes & Gardens puts out a specialty magazine called Kitchens & Baths. They have lots of resources for the fixtures (lights, showers, toilets, faucets, cabinets and hardware, etc.) and products (i.e. wallpaper, paint, flooring, shower curtains, etc.) that they showcase in the different articles which is located in the back of the magazine. They do all sizes of baths from small, remodel w/o adding space, to luxury size complete with the sauna and workout areas!! There are lots of other magazines out there that specialize in bathroom design. Pick up a couple and tear out the designs you like and create a material list from the resource section to help with cost estimates, product availability in your area, and for reference during the mock-up/layout phase. Hope this helps!!
