I just bought a house and it has textured walls that I hate. I would like to have flat walls. Is there a way I can do this myself, or will I have to hire somone?

Generally, you can mist water onto the texture to soften it a bit and scrape it off. (This is a fairly messy job) The wall may need some sanding to complete the job. Might need some touch up with joint compound and sanding, too. After it is looking good, prime and paint.

Hope this helps.
