Designing Kitchens and Bathrooms - change bathtub color

I am interested in changing the color of my bathtub, as replacing it would be too costly and difficult. Do I have any options?

Most forum posters tend to opt with existing tub/shower colors and decorate aound them. Coatings and paintings by pros tend not to be a long-range durability option. Once recoated or painted, shower areas will have to be cleaned with pH neutral cleaner and you will have to be conscientious about cleaning procedures. It is best that all areas within shower be wiped down down pH neautral cleaner after each use and surfaces left dry to prevent scum and mienral buildup.

thanks for the input. I was considering having it painted, but now I'll reevaluate. Does that also apply to having fiberglass put on top of the existing tub? (I assume that's what you meant by recoating, but just checking). Thanks again
