Hi there!
I want to install a window in my living room. For this I need to cut cinder block. Can anyone recomend that how much should I cut the cinder block for installing a window of 36"x30" size.

I'd make the hole 3 1/2" more each way so you can put a frame of treated lumber ( 1.5" on each side ) and have some room to shift the window if you need to plumb it up some.
The bigger question is how do you plan to hold up the cinder block above this opening when you cut it ?

Hopefully Andy's "bigger question" made you rethink your plan. It can be done, but, if it were me, I would call a masonary contractor to build the hole.
Andy -- did you get that rental done early, or just start wondering how we were doing without you, or just start feeling guilty about not being here??? (LOL!!)
