I am looking to buy a table saw - mostly for basic home projects/remodeling. I was leaning towards the new craftsman 10" bench table saw, which has 24" rip capacity left AND right, and runs for about $190. Can someone tell me if this is a decent saw, or am I overlooking something?

Personally, I think any emphasis on rip capacity is overrated. I'd much rather rip sheet goods (plywood, OSB, paneling) by laying it flat on sawhorses with rails (1x4 tying the ends together so that you can also crosscut panels without the falling) and using a straighedge clamped to the panel. Moving the saw instead of the work requires less effort.
What I look for is a good fence that stays in adustment and enough power to do the job.
