I am moving out of my rental apartment and want to get my cleaning deposit back, but I think I might have a problem. I have been using a rolling desk chair on a hardwood floor, and I now see that this has worn off the polyurethane finish, in a circular area (approx 2' radius).

Since I am only renting, the last thing I want to do is re-finish the entire floor. Also, the floor is not in great shape, so I do not need to make this repair look pristine. Do you think it is viable to try to re-finish the damaged portion of the floor?

Thanks,
Serge

Unless you call a pro it will look like a patch. Being able to feather the finish to make it look right is difficult.
