I am about to have laminate installed in two rooms of my house. I decided to tear out the carpet and tack strips myself to save a little cash. The carpet came up easy, but as I started to tear out the tack strips I noticed the concrete subflooring popping up around the tacks. Why is this and how can one avoid it?
