Ok I had a serious question here about hardwood floors and carefully removing the adhesive and tough remnants of padding. Can you replace my old post?
I am scraping old carpet padding off a hardwood floor.
Is there a solution I can use to safely dissolve the remaining padding and adhesive without damaging the beautiful hardwood floors and finish underneath?
If there is something, where can I get it?

I would love to give you a great responce however............
Before that can be answered please let us know what the current surface is on the hardwood ? Poly ? Stain ? Resin ?
how old is it?
Hope to help

Heat gun and a scraper is a frequent recommendation on the forums. If trying to save the existing finish, perhaps low heat and plastic scraper, taking care not to damage finish would be effective. As indicated, knowing the type of finish may be helpful, as well as what kind of adhesive, so we can determine what you can use to wipe the surface to remove remaining adhesive residue.

I just bought the house and have no idea how old the stuff is. It looks to be polyurethane finish and looks good though.
