I live in an older mobile home. Several years ago, my son installed a new shower stall in the tub and shower area. He was not very careful and wound up with caulking everywhere. It is on the tub, the new shower stall, etc. How can I remove the excess or even all of it and replace it with a clear caulk?

Also, I think I would like to remove the shower stall and just paid the area. The area around the tub is basically the same thing which was on all the floors. It is orange and brown and very ugly, but a found a sponge painting kit and I liked the way it looked. Would this process work in this situation? Would I need to apply a primer first?

PatOba,

Removal of caulk will require a putty knife and some elbow grease. Be carefull not to scratch the finish surface. Use of chemicals to assist in removal could damage the finish surface.

The issue of the painting should be directed to the Decorate Forum under Painting.

Good Luck!
