Hi! My 2 year old got a hold of a black permanant marker and colored my wood dresser. Is there any way to get the marker off short of sanding and refinishing the furniture? Thank you so much! Stephanie

Stephanie:

I wish I had better news, but you're probably in for refinishing.

One thing you can try before that is this:

Make a paste of ordinary baking soda and water. Use a wet sponge to scrub the area affected. This MAY remove the marks. If it does, you can go over the entire top with Turtle Wax Poplsihing Compound and Scratch Remover (one product) from you local automotive store to restore and even sheen.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting the marker almost off, definitely faded, with Goo Gone. Stephanie
