Hi Doug ! I asked awhile back on here about the "refinishing paint jobs" for bathtubs and existing ceramic tile in my bathroom.
You advised me not to do it, and I just wanted to update and let you know we remodeled the bathroom ourselves ! ( with some help from a friend ) The bathroom used to have green tile everywhere ! Walls and floor. Eck ! Now everything is sparkling white ! It is blinding when you walk in there. (haha) I love it.

I cannot believe how well they built houses 50 years ago! ( That's how old this home is ) After breaking through the tile layer
on the walls, there was very thick plaster behind it , stuck to screening ! Wow !
O.k., here's my latest question. I would like to apply a grout sealer between the new tiles on floor. Can I also apply it to the grout between the tiles inside shower? Or should I use a different sealer more appropriate for all the water contact?
What do you reccomend ?

I actually put together & installed the new toilet all by myself !
I know- you're laughing at me. I came close to posting you on here that night, because I couldn't figure out for the life of me where this one rubber piece went ! Directions were not helpful ! Hmphh ! But I did it ! Of course, for 3 straight days afterward, I kept expecting to find a flood when I walked in there ! The only thing I'm dissapointed in is the day I came home with "wonderboard" for the shower walls, and discovered my boyfriend & his buddy had ALREADY put up the greenboard there ! That was supposed to be for the walls outside of the shower, only. And, we were going to rip out old tub and install new one, but I got voted down on that too. It has a couple chips in it, so so he's going to have that "refinishing" thing done to it. Men ! (Er, sorry, let me rephrase that-Men that take shortcuts ) Anyway, the greenboard behind the tile has me worried, but we did tile over the entire walls in shower (all the way up to ceiling ) So, keep your fingers crossed it holds up.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me regarding the grout sealer. Sorry for long post! Just so excited about it, and so glad it's over ! We still have to have pros come out and install exhaust fan and hook up the wiring for it. Thank God they were afraid of electricity !! ( :) ) Thanks , Doug !!!!!!!
