moved into an older home which has double entry doors. I want to put in new (decorative) handlesets (such as the schlage f-series, or baldwins), but the doors have 5" backsets -- and I'm finding it diffiicult to find handlesets that accommodate a 5" backset. Any leads on where I can get them would be greatly appreciated.

These will most likely be a special order item. Schlage still has them available for their A series lock the last time I checked, not sure about the F series or Baldwin. Contact your local locksmith or builders hardware supplier-they can see what is available and give you a quote.
