I currently have tiles on the walls of my bathroom. They are old, no one can pinpoint exactly how old, at least 20 years if not 30. I would like to remove the tiles, at least on the bottom half of the walls, and install tongue & groove panels. Would this be a bad idea because of moisture? The home improvement books I have been reading all show the panels in the bathrooms and make no mention of moisture issues. Instead of installing seperate panels, can I buy faux paneling? Does this sound like too much of a huge project for a beginner like me?

It sounds like a good project. Simple, straightfoward, basic steps all the way.

Moisture in a bathroom is not a problem in general, provided that there is adequate fan exhausting of the moisture.
