Have inherited a commercial garage type compressor. What kind of oil should be used in this unit ? Seems like a lightweight oil of some kind.

Piston type compressors use 20 or 30 weight non-detergent motor oil. I'd maybe go with the 30 weight if it is a used compressor and is in a warm location.
Must be non-detergent as the additives in regular motor oil will gum it up.
Auto supply stores should have this.
