Had new gas forced air heater installed about 1 1/2 years ago.....about a month ago when I would raise the heat ... it sounded (the blower & gas) as if it was going on & then it would just shut down.... Had the company come back & check situation out... They said it was a gas regulator which they replaced.... They also told me that because there was no cap on the chimney that, that could also be a problem.... We installed chimney cap & now its happening again...... I called them & needless to say no call back..... any info greatly appreciated........

Check the heat anticipator in the thermostat. Do you have an AMP meter to set the heat anticipator?
Make sure the air filter is clean. Some units don't run well with pleated air filters for heat but fine for cooling.
Try running the fan in the ON position, for 10 minutes then test raising the temp and see if it fails to fire.
