I'm going to pour footers using the earth as forms, but I'd like to put screed boards around this so I can get a nice level surface to lay block on. What's the easiest way to install screed boards in this situation? I'm guessing that I can just drive wood stakes and nail 2 X 4s to that. I can't really rent the steel forms b/c I'm an amateur and I'd have to rent them for a week.
