I am currently remodeling my basement and am redoing the bathroom as well. I would like to put a vent fan in but there is no real good way of venting it. Has anyone seen a vent free bathroom fan? I know they make them for range hoods over cooktops, but I have never found one for a bathroom.

The bath needs to be vented outside the house. A bath fan that would be similar to a "ventless" kitchen stove fan would be the same has having no fan at all.

Vent the fan by running the ducting between and parallel to the floor joists and out to the rim joist. Drill through the rim joist and connect your vent there.

rebnuts,

Vent Free is OK for odors but as Brewbeer says, it's not the same with moisture. If you don't vent the moisture out of the bathroom, consider all your work to be done in vain. Damage will be inevitable and issues of mold and mildew will be your next project to tackle!

Take Brewbeer's advice - you'll not regret it!

The bathroom basement is just a toilet and a sink ... no shower, so humidity shouldn't be a problem. I was just curious to see if there was anything out there. Thanks for all the info!
