I've asked the same question on the deck and patio forum and I'd thought I'd try here also:
I wanting to have a patio under this deck
http://home.mn.rr.com/dtro/deck.jpg
The size is 12x20
I'm considering all options. Concrete vs pavers, contractor vs DIY.
I've gotten quotes averaging 1500 for contractor and 89.75/yd for the 3 yds I need. My question is that once I make this patio I want to screen it in. With frost and heaving (I'm in Minnesota) can I just secure a "wall" to the patio and to the underside of the deck and screen it in? Also if I went with the redimix DIY route is this something I can do alone with help from wife? How many wheelbarrow loads is 3 yds? To put it in perspective I built the deck with no help, so I can handle the labor.
Thanks for ANY opinions.
