I have a friend who has one. He's happy with it.

A lot of the larger Rigid tools are made in mainland China.

Emerson also make a good deal of Craftsman power tools and are probably on the same level.
My preference leans toward Delta.
Not as flashy looking as the others but good quality, made in the USA and very easy to get parts and accessories for.
Hey! Where can I get one of those calenders?

Greg,
Many of the larger Delta tools (table saws, bandsaws, etc) are made in Taiwan.
But here's the difference between Taiwan and mainland China tools. Delta has had Quality control in place in Taiwan for many years now, whereas, the China tool manufacturing process is in it's infant stages.
I also have and prefer Delta, and they consistantly get the better
test raings in WOOD magazine.
hey, I'll take a calander too.

does Delta have a good bench top saw? that's what I need. How about Bosch or the Dewalt 744. Which do you prefer?

The Ridgid TS2400 is a hefty 'benchtop'. The price I saw for it seems a bit high, closer to a wannabe contractor's saw.
Oh well, about the same for the Dewalt 744, nearly 500 bucks.
You can get an adequate portable benchtop for less than 150 or 200 w/stand. If I were loking for a saw and willing to spend 500, I'd consider adding more cash and getting a contractor's table saw.
Larger table, much better fence, belt drive, 110 or 220v.
