The pull cord came out of my mower. How can I thread it back?

Hi, I recommend just bringing your mower to the repair shop and have them replace the rope and lube the starter assembly. If you can remove the starter assembly from the engine then just bring that in. The rewind assembly has a spring inside it and if it is disassembled or comes apart by accident has the potential to do bodily harm. Besides, it's almost time to start cutting grass again. Have your mower serviced, oil change etc while you have it at the shop.

Hello Janell!
You can repair this without removing the spring or spool. Just remove the starter mechanism from the engine and wind the spool counterclockwise (when viewed from the underside) until it stops turning. Then, unwind it until the hole for the rope in the spool lines up with the hole in the metal cover. Feed the rope through both holes, tie a knot in the end that is closest to the plastic spool, then attatch the handle.
