I HAVE A 1989 GLASTRON SIERRA 195. THE COLOR HAS FADED. WAX DOESNT SEEM TO HELP. CAN THE FINISH BE REDONE AND IF SO WHAT KIND OF FINISH WOULD YOU SUGGEST. I DON'T KNOW IF THE FINISH IS A GELCOAT OR CLEARCOAT.

A good quality rubbing compound should take off the oxidation. I like using Turtle Wax compound. The follow with a good marine wax.

It'll take a lot of elbow grease. A rotary polisher will make it easier. (Not the orbital type)

Another way is to use 800+ grit wet and dry sandpaper, sanding under a flow of water from the hose.

It should look good as new when you're done.
