I am having a new home built and want to find the best flooring against water damage. I have teenage daughters who are forever clogging the toilet and overflowing the tub. I've considered putting in a drain like the ones used in schools and other public facilities. Is this even do-able in a home? I'd appreciate any ideas.

barbq,
This requires a sloped in the floor and obviously, it may not be dueable because of the entry door into the bathroom and adjustments needed for toilet, vanity.... get the idea of the problems with this. Now is not to time to ask about making major changes to the plans in the midst of construction. Change orders are costly.
I have always said that when you're going to build new or remodel, "Don't build it with the focus based on the children needs BECAUSE they grow up and they are gone!"
Bathroom flooring suggestions would be ceramic.
Good luck!
