putting in a new mailbox post. I don't have anything to mix the quickrete in. Someone told me they just poured it in the hole and added water and mixed it in the hole. Will that work? Just not sure how much water to add. :confused:

You can put the post in the ground and put good size rocks around it to hold it and then pack the dirt in.
if not mix the concrete on a peice of plywood make a hole in the center of the mix add water then blend it together.

i use about 1 gal of water per bag, can always add, can never take it out. ah yes, spring, the time a mans fancy turns to the differences between quikrete and sakrete. -Josh

I just pour in the dry material and run enough water on it to be able to mold the top to a taper to keep water from pooling. The mix will draw moisture from the earth. This is no great strucural feat, so I don't fret about full strength concrete.
