Can someone tell me the best way to seal caulking tubes that have been opened?? I have tried inserting a nail into the open end, wrapping in SaranWarp, etc but everytime I go to re-use the tubes, the stuff inside is rock hard and I have to throw it out!
Thanks!
Thanks!

I've gotten good results from wire nuts...

I stick a nail in the end, cover with duct tape, and put the cap back on. It extends the time I can save the tube, but it eventually dries out. Sometimes when it appears dried out, I can resurrect the tube by running a drill bit thru the dried caulk.

there are little do hickeys called "little red caps" which look and work like condoms for caulking basically. They have them at Ace hardware locally, but they are new so maybe not where you are. They are very handy. -Josh
