Ther is a place here in CA , outdrive exchange, and a real good one in Fl, that i cont remember the name of but they do
a lot of the factory stuff. You didnt think they rebuilt them
themselves did you?
We have heard of poeple getting units on line too.

I did an internet search on "Rebuilt Mercury Outdrives", and came up with dozens of sources.

I can't say if any of them are good or bad. If you find one that looks promising, don't go on price alone. Ask for a list of previous customers, and see how satisfied they are with the product.

Also check warranty periods, and what's covered.

Finally, if you have the old drive unit, check on getting it rebuilt from your local authorized Mercury dealer/shop. They will use genuine Mercury parts, tech methods and specs, and manuals. They will also replace only those parts which are worn beyond specs or broken, and you won't end up paying for parts that aren't needed.

And their work and warranty is backed up by Mercury's good name. I'm not sure what you'll end up with from some independant rebuilding shops.
