Hi there,
I've read about reglazing tubs - I'm weighing whether to reglaze the tub in the main bathroom, there's a obvious chip and the color is neutral (doesn't want to replace!). DOes it really cost much lesser than replacing, and is there some kind of "chip repair" kit (for porcelain tub)? appreciate any ideas, suggestions, advice. thanks!

It usually costs less. Depending on the circumstances, removing and replacing a tub can sometimes involve removing tile, wallboard, plumbing, and/or a wall. But in other cases, it's easier.

I have seen a number of refinished tubs and they seem, for the most part, to be very good. Make sure the company you use is reputable and has references. The biggest problems I have seen are in situations where people tried to do it themselves with no experience and got in way over their heads. Also if you are doing anything around the tub eg; tile, paint, wallpaper etc., do ti first and let them come in after your work is completed. After they are done with a tub it is a new color, caulked and ready to go.
