Is there a way to repair the front of my mirror? The knick and scratch are on the glass front only. The silver plating is OK. Can an auto glass repair technique be used?

It is doubtful that a successful repair can be made. Any grinding or filling of the mirror surface would tend to be obvious. To be sure, check with a mirror and glass shop and the auto glass repair shop. Chips on edges of mirrors and glassware can sometimes be ground to remove sharp edges, but grinding or filling on mirror surface would tend to be obvious on a reflective surface like a mirror.
