View Full Version : Garage door open by itself

My garage door has taken to opening by itself.

It's not coming in contact with the garage floor, and if I discoonect it for a day it will work fine for about a week.

I have adjusted it several times per the instruction book to no avail.

I am wondering if there is some sort of electrical build up that could be taking place that would cause this.
Thanks

dpeel: I sounds like the adjustment for you door resistance is set too low. It depends on your brand of opener, but usually they are little screw like protrusions on the upper back of the opener. Set the up resistance lower. If it is at 5, set it to 4. Just for your information, if your door does not touch the floor, it is not adjusted properly. You need to set the down button higher. Good Luck Jack the Contractor.
PS One other thing. You might try to tip your antenna on the opener down. It may be picking up a signal from a car or neighbors
garage and opens.
