I have a chair that is oval and swivels. It is a side chair for a living room. It is very heavy and has a rather outdated pattern. I want to change the fabric but think it is difficult to redo. I see many of the shows such as Trading spaces and their work is very nice. Does anyone know if it is possible to reupholster a chair without it looking terrible? I tried redoing the chair but because it is oval the material does not conform to the shape. Thank you.

I reuped an old couch years ago with upholstery fabric i got at a great discount. It took me about 4 days, and it was a lot of work (stretching the fabric properly is critical) but well worth the effort. I used a book i borrowed from the library, and the old material as patern. (You could always order a slipcover if it didn't work out).
Good Luck.
