There is what appears to be an clear odorless oil running down our walls in the bathroom. Our bathroom was just painted and the painter refuses to answer questions. What would cause that?

The paint has not been given enough time to dry before the steam from the shower got to it. This "oil" will wipe off, but it will be a recurring problem.

How long should the walls have been given to dry? You say a recurring problem - for how long? Why is it oily to the touch?

That is the components of the paint mixture seeping out. If you wipe it down really well and give it 2 or 3 days to dry, it should stop, or at least reduce in volume. There was a post that explained it well. It may be in the archives.
