I took off my painters tape off of my bathroom wall 24 hours after painting and some paint peeled off also even when I was taking off the tape slowly. What would cause this and is there any way to prevent this. I was using a satin latex paint over a previously painted surface of a year old new construction. Now I am forced to touch those areas up which I hope will blend OK. Any advice would be helpful for future. Thank you!!

I generally pull the tape when I finish. I don't let the paint form a strong film to manage, and don't let it become too attached to the surface.

Just buy a good edging brush and practice. The time saved applying and pulling tape and the subsequent touch-ups will more than make up for the initial slow production of edging until you get used to it.

Hello,
I too had this problem when painting...very very frustrating...I found that if I used a hair dryer to loosen the tape glue while pulling it off, the paint remained intact...It takes a little longer but it sure saved me a lot of grief...best of luck
