I am currently looking at finishing my basement and want to tap into my existing heat pump. I can access the unit and ducts with no problem. How can I tell if the unit is strong enough to do the job and because it is a basement does it need statdard vents? Currently I have a 2 story home with the basement. 1200sq ft down stairs and 1000sq ft upstairs. There are 2 heating units one for the main level and one for the upper level. The one I want to tap into is the main level. I am new at posting so if I missed something pleas continue to ask me more questions. Sorry

Karuzzz:

You likely could tap into the existing ductwork but it would be helpfull to have more info on your home.

If you read the Read-B-4 posting at the top of this forum, what we need to know is there.
