My son in law wants to enlarge his family room in the basement. In order to do this, the furnace has to be moved about 4 feet from where it is. I can handle the sheet metal and electrical, and the gas line extensions. The AC lines bother me a bit though. I would like an opinion as to how much would be involved in cutting and extending the copper refrigerant lines, and things to watch out for, even though I plan to have an HVAC technician do this work. (I have had a few technicians do this type of work in my own home who have had to come back and do some serious repair work. I don't get bashful about my checklist anymore.) thanks in advance

he will only have to extend the refrigerant lines, you can do the drain. be sure he pulls a vaccuum before recharging. make your duct with the least restriction possible. good luck!
