Mat,
Please provide us with a few more details so we can help you with your paint problem. Details such as what brand paint are you using, which part of the country you live in, how often you repaint and why - peeling, fading, mildew, ??? Is only one side or a couple of sides bad?

la pacific siding, faulty, if moisture gets into siding, siding will crumble after short period of time..it fades, i have used acrylic paint, however, the protected areas of siding is ok, it is the ones that is exposed to east and west, fades, mildews, just a mess, the last time i painted east and west sides, i used dap primer..and painted with acrylic paint ...do not know how long this will last...that is why i wanted to know about vinyl paint....but when i read bob villas message board nothing but negative reports......do you have anyother suggestions...thanks

used sherwin williams first, then house beautiful, i live in georgia, however, there was a class action lawsuit regarding la pacific siding, it is very faulty siding, to replace would be thousands of dollars...and i only received a few hundred in lawsuit...

I was going to suggest Sherwin-Williams. I think you want to stay with acrylic (latex) paints as they will let moisture escape better than oil paints. Have you tried the Sherwin-Williams Duration paint?
How long has it been since you last painted?

my house was built in 1990,painted l990, l995, l998, i painted east and west ends 2002 summer, that is when i used dap primer, then acrylic paint....if i do not keep this siding painted, the siding that is exposed to elements will crumble...if this paint job does not work, i may have to have new siding put on areas that are exposed to elements, i know there is a cement (wood look) siding that is suppose to last at least 30-40 yrs...........thanks for your info.......................
