when turning the bolt to prime the oil burner, do you turn it counterclockwise? don't want to break anything off!

Its a small pipe plug on most of them . some have a plug set up where you can slip a small hose over it. Yes counter clock wise to open it. Try and use a box wrench on the plug. This way its on the plug when the oil shoots out and you can tighten it faster. dont take it all the way out.;) ED
