Good morning,
I recently knocked my bryant thermostat off the wall and bought a maple chase 9620 digital replacement. The old one had 8 wires all of which, but one hooked up to the new one. The W1 wire from my old stat did not have a terminal on the new one. I spoke with several people and they said that it should go to the B terminal on the new stat. I hooked it all up and everything worked fine except the heat would not shut off. The stat was set to 70 and i finally turned it off when it got to 80 degrees. Someone told me that i need to put a jumper on it from something to something. (he wasnt sure) Any ideas or comments would be appriciated.
Thanks for any replies.......

Sorry I left that out, had a problem posting and in my final post i forgot that info.
It is a byrant 2 stage heat pump....
The wires that i have are as follows:
old stat new stat
c c
R R
Y1 Y1
E E
G G
W2 W2
O O
W1 ????
There are spare terminals on the new stat - Y2, B, L......
I had W1 to B and it seemed to work, but just would not shut off.
Any help would be appriciated. Hopefully I can get this thing up and kicking this weekend.......

I found this on the following link for your tstat:
http://216.239.57.100/search?q=cache:JsPzr8A5B64C:www.maplechase.com/manuals/robertshaw/110-732e.pdf+maple+chase+9620&hl=en&ie=UTF-8
Terminal New Label Description
R, -VR or VR-R R 24 VAC
Y, Y1 or M Y1 Stage 1 Cooling/Heating Circuit
O or R O Reversing Valve (Cooling Mode)B B Reversing Valve (Heating Mode)
G or F G Fan Contactor Circuit
Y2 Y2 2nd Stage Cooling Circuit
W1 or W2 or W-U W2 2nd Stage Heating Circuit
L or X L System Monitor LED
E E Emergency Heating Circuit
C, X or B C 24 VAC Transformer Common Side
It still leaves some confusion. If W1 is 2nd stage heat and E is emergency heat, arent they the same stage? And if you had a W1, was that your first stage or 2nd? Sorry I reply with more questions than answers but someone else here can pick up the ball and help us both.
