We recently purchased a home and I found extra paint in the garage - turns out the interior trim was done with exterior paint. Is there any problem with this? I painted the trim in my daughter's bedroom (it's a medium gold color) and noticed after tsp prep and primer, it was still hard to cover. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Using exterior paint inside is likely just a waste of money. It is formulated differently for use in the sun and rain. It seems unlikley that it will cause any problems.
If there was a strong color contrast between the original color and the new color, there can be some difficulty covering in one coat. Primer can help with a big transition. But you did not say what you mean by hard to cover.
