My deck is constructed of pressure treated lumber. It is currently still the original faded green treat color. I would like to have a cedar or brown stain color to go with my house trim. Will P/T lumber accept stain, and if so what is the best procedure to achieve the results I am looking for?

Benjamin Moore recommends waiting 6 months after installation before appying any coating to PT lumber.

They also sell (as do many other mfgs) both semi transparent and solid color stains (more like a specialty paint) for use on decks.

You need to do some more research. Your deck should be thoroughly cleaned if it was built last year or before. If it is very recent construction it may still have moll glaze that will cause premature finish failure. Mill glaze needs to be removed from newere lumber.
I never recommend a film-based finiish, it WILL peel. Penetrating oil stains with water repellancy, and UV protection are best. Some of the better ones are Sikkens, Cabots, Wolman, TWP, and a couple others.
